The band warming up!

I never thought I would be using the word pandemic in a post about our most recent album release party on February 1. In fact, several factors related to the current state we find ourselves have influenced my delay in writing. The first was the simple lack of time to do it how I wanted it done, coupled with the reality that the advice given to everyone who writes on websites is to “keep it short”. So prior to this pandemic I couldn’t find the time, and knew when I found it there would be the challenge of editing it so much that it would lose much of what I wanted to say.

Since the lack of time is no longer an issue, I am going to give you the option to read the short, edited version or the complete version (or both!).

Here is the short version—

The album release party was a blast! It was so much fun seeing family and friends, and my gratitude is endless for ALL the support that allowed the party to happen. I hope you enjoy a few of the pictures!

Here is the long version—

A little over nine years ago, I wrote about our first official release party and called it Best Days. It will always be one of the highlights of my life, just because it was the first time the band had performed live, and the first time we had introduced a new album of original songs to an audience who had never heard any of them. Probably everyone has had the experience of not knowing how something will be received that is so close to the heart, and it was a night I never wanted to end. Four years later, we had the party for the second album (see Best Days, Volume II), and it was also very special.

The latest party was also amazing. It was so nice to have it at The Clubhouse where we had the first one. And I can’t thank my producer Swaff enough. Seriously, there just aren’t enough words to say how much he does and did to make everything perfect. The band was second to none, and it was a blessing to have talent of that caliber playing the new songs. Swaff’s mom, Sonya, made everything really special by providing the dessert reception. There was even a very cool cake.

My sister and her family also helped, and she and my brother put together a fire for s’mores. Having the fire going as you drove in only made the atmosphere even more perfect.

S’mores!

Merch! It was almost all gone after the party was over!

The main purpose of the release party is to thank YOU, the friends and family who encourage us all the time. It was so nice of those who drove (some through three states!) to spend time listening to brand new music. You are all the blessings in my life that are beyond belief!
