J. Douglas Wright is a singer-songwriter who has been recognized by the International Music and Entertainment Association (Christian Artist of the Year Winner, 2020; Christian Song of the Year Winner for “No Go”, 2018; Christian Album of the Year Winner for HOLE IN THE SKY, 2015; Christian Male Vocalist of the Year Winner, 2013; Nominee, 2014); The Independent Music Awards (Christian Album Nominee for Breathing Fire Like Dragons, 2020; Christian Song Nominee for “Jangchikyjang”, 2015; Christian Song Winner for “Glorious Savior”, 2011); The International Songwriting Association (Christian Song Winner for “Glorious Savior”, 2011), and Embassy Music (Grand-Prize Winning Songwriter, 2003).

Wright’s latest project, Breathing Fire Like Dragons, was released on September 13, 2019. The first singles, “Grace Pockets” and “Blindspot”, are currently available everywhere.

In describing his musical background, Wright says,

“Growing up, there was always music in our home. My mom was a singer. When she was in college, she auditioned and was selected from hundreds of others to headline a band for a summer television show based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has one of the best voices I’ve heard. My dad was self-taught on the piano and played the bassoon, my brother was in a band, and my sister and I sang together for many years. So it was natural that music became a way for me to express my faith.”
